Fascinating Uplifting Radiance
This well-known showy plant is a member of the Borage and Forget-me-not tribe, Boraginaceae. A Modern Herbal
Comfrey is a wonderful perennial plant. It has broad leaves and a very long tap root which goes deep into the earth and brings up mineral rich nutrients into the leaves. They have beautiful violet flowers which the bees love!
Many people will use the new tender leaves in the spring much like spinach. I dry my comfrey to make delicious teas which are my customers favorite.
Comfrey has medicinal qualities and being on a farm I have had occasion to use it on my animals. One small goat was attacked by a black bear and he tried to break her neck. By the time I got to her the bear had punctured her artery and her neck was S shaped. I grabbed my comfrey and my cayenne pepper and went to work. She had over 250 bite and claw marks on her tiny body. With comfrey and cayenne she healed and lived a good and long life.
