You have grown a garden and your garden has blessed you with an abundant harvest.  Now what do you do?  You have many options for preserving your harvest:

  • Freezing
  • Cold Storage or Root Cellar
  • Canning
  • Dehydrating
  • Pickling
  • Fermenting

Your options will depend upon what you have to preserve, how much space, how much money, and how creative you want to go with preserving.

Shepherdess Celeste will help you solve your preserving issues.  I found that if I think about what I am going to do with the food down the road it really helps me to focus in on how I want to preserve what I have.  For instance, if you dehydrate those carrots and want to use them in a stew this winter you might boil and boil that stew and those carrots may never hydrate an become tender.  Most back-backers have experienced the joys of those crunch vegetables.  This is just one tip that Shepherdess Celeste can share with you about preservation.

This class is available in March-July only.

Class is 4 hours long

  • Hands On Experience
  • Family Friendly
  • Minimum of 5 students for class and maximum of 10 students.
  • Classes for individuals are $10 more
