You have entered the technological matrix. No matter your proclivities you are being groomed and altered through technology to adapt to a false paradigm. A decade ago social engineers began implementing social distancing policies in case of pandemic. We got comfortable with social distancing, like an old pair of tennis shoes.
When technology began slithering into our lives we embraced texting and social media as a way to keep in touch. The reality is that with each text, tweet, or post you are driving a stake through the heart of what it means to be human.
Emerging technology is a story about people, politics, culture, and the State of the Soul. The history of technology is littered with military application finding their way into our lives. Some technologies such as the TI Digital Calculator became obsolete and others are so far out there they disappear because they were so detached from reality. Our perception of reality is what drives our behavior.
We secure technology when a few inspired individuals tackle a problem with perseverance. Technology can be used for good or evil. We were sold technology as convenience and benefit but what we are about to reap will bring humanity to the brink of extinction.
Shifting Sands of Reality
Reality reminds me of when I was young when my family would visit an oasis in the desert. To get to the oasis we would have to travel on what was a relatively new highway, through sand dunes created by undulating and swirling winds as they fashioned an ever-changing surreal scene.
According to Noah Webster, 1828:
Reality is an actual being or existence of anything. It is truth. It is fact. It is absolute. It is distinct from mere appearance. It is intrinsically important, not merely a matter of show. In law it is immobile and fixed.
Today we find ourselves in a world where reality is dictated to us by an unfolding of evolutionary technology designing an engulfing panorama. Reality has become subjective with potential to alter our perceptions, allegiances, mobilize, and create reality dissonance. The information growing within reality is being packaged, micro-managed and distributed.
Supernatural Realm
Most of you believe in the supernatural. You know you have a soul, that you are more than just flesh and blood. You may not believe in God, or Jesus, the Holy Spirit or the Bible. Possibly you do not believe in heaven or hell. My world-view is biblical so I can speak to you frankly from that perspective. For a few moments please keep your mind open to the possibility of the supernatural realm.
The Bible as the Word of God shapes our understanding of what reality is. We can trust it to help us navigate the invisible realms below our feet and up into the layers of heaven, unto eternity. It helps guide us in relationships, what things are for our benefit and what things are dangerous. The Bible vividly illustrates supernatural events unheard of in history. It also describes in great detail the events that you are see and even those you cannot envision.
Real World Scenario
Emergency Management exercises simulate real world events. The real world is one which was until recently a sensory world. We would see our family and interacted with them, not through devices, but by talking face to face and by listening. We would smell the aroma of real foods being made in the kitchen, not the foul stench of greasy processed Hungry Man dinners. We took time to listen to the buzzing of bees and the melodious songs of birds. On hot summer days we would lay upon the scratch green grass and look up and the billowing clouds to see faces or shapes or maybe search for a four-leaf clover.
People knew their roots. People would be born, married, had children, and died in the real world. Eternal life was understood and one guarded their soul as their most precious asset.
In the real world you would only find a fantasy in only three distinct places: dark crevices, entertainment (which was not a noble profession until recently), and the world of dreams. If this life has faded from your memory or if per chance you never had this experience:
Remember the days of old; reflect upon the years of [other] generations. Ask your father, and he will tell you; your elders, and they will inform you. Deuteronomy 32:7
This was the reality of the pre-internet world.
Digital Reality 1.0
As you can see with Second Life you can have a totally synthetic life not rooted in this physical world, but purely illusion. The Internet has shifted our existence into virtual or engulfing technologies. People around the world are immersing themselves it digital realities. No longer do you need work hard to live. Digital Reality allows you to bathe yourself in pure fantasy. With social media you can have untold Friends who are not really friends, and gaming with gamers around the world, your strategies and talents are being harvested behind the scenes for profit.
Digital platforms began to affect the real world and the real world increasing became digitized.
As the lines are engineered to blur reality and fantasy your soul is in peril. Do you think that you can live in a place that God did not ordain?
Destruction is not His; it is His children's defect you crooked and twisted generation.
Is this how you repay the Lord, you disgraceful, unwise people?! Is He not your Father, your Master? He has made you and established you. Deuteronomy 32:5-6
Digital Reality 2.0
We find ourselves entering the Uncanny Valley of Death as we begin to mix realities: Mixed Reality (MR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
These technologies are still in their nascent stages; yet they have potential for information transfer and receipt, as well as experiencing narratives through synthetic or captured moments.
Virtual Reality permits you to enter into a “virtual” reality, which can be entirely synthetic and a created digital environment. This domain could be a suspended moment of an actual real-world environment. Synthetic environments can be molded after the real world, a fantasy, or a hybrid of both.
It is increasingly possible to enter the Uncanny Valley of Death and never return.
As healthy persons, we are represented at the crest of the second peak in Figure 2 (moving). Then when we die, we are, of course, unable to move; the body goes cold, and the face becomes pale. Therefore, our death can be regarded as a movement from the second peak (moving) to the bottom of the uncanny valley (still), as indicated by the arrow's path in Figure 2. We might be glad this arrow leads down into the still valley of the corpse and not the valley animated by the living dead!
Suspended moments of actual real-world environments involve using 360 degree cameras to capture a video moment in time. The technology is already here. With VR you are to that geographical and temporal moment in time will. As with other technologies you will get the quality that you pay for. The experience has the capacity to be fully edited and amended. Sensory input can be edited in. You are probably hearing about the deployment of this technology with what is called DeepFakes. I can assure you DeepFakes have been around a long time and are used by government and media all the time.
This technology is being refined to suck you into a synthetic world that will appear deceptively pleasant but you have entered the Uncanny Shadow of Death.
Augmented Reality allows the privilege to interact with a digital layer superimposed on their physical real world. Emergency Management uses this type of technology during disaster with programs such as ESRI and DHS Virtual Training. Once perfected this technology will disrupt and transform the way we communicate, work, and interact in our world.
A combination of voice command, artificial intelligence, and AR will make screens a thing of the past.
Brain Computer Interface (BCI): Also called Brain Machine Interface (BMI). Imagine a day when you can seamlessly step into a cyber-reality when connected to the Internet. The technology uses a hive model and will be linked to artificial intelligence's and other brains. You may not even know or be aware of what intelligence's you are interacting with.
With an implantable device you would be communicating with the directly with the internet. Whose memories will have primacy, yours, augmented intelligence, or the internet?
The darker side of this technology begins to emerge as you communicate with others with BCI as a medium.
"I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them. I will cut him off from his people."Leviticus 20:6
You may think you are just sharing information, ideas, memories and emotions but you are putting your soul on the line when using a medium to receive, create and transmit information.
This technology also has the potential to implant ideas in to other peoples minds and subconscious. For details see: “Neuralink and the Brain’s Magical Future”.
Whole Brain Emulation (WBE)
Up until now we have been edging to the proverbial cliff but this is where if we haven’t already fallen off we definitely will. This technology creates a virtual sentient existence that would live and interact in other realities.
Nobody really knows if the uploaded mind would be sentient but that is the promise. The details on how it would interact with the cloud world or personal interactions as you know them today.
Many avenues for brain uploading are being explored which include it being done while a person is alive and when a person dies. Ultimately a ‘copy’ of the mind would be made and the computer would run a simulation model of the uploaded brain, it is also expected to have a conscious mind of its own. This uploaded, fully functional brain could live in a virtual reality or in a computer which takes physical form in a robot or biological body. Theoretically, this technology would allow uploaded minds to interact with all realities and be able to create and share information.
No matter what side of the fence you sit on about God most of you do believe there is a battle between good and evil. Mankind has survived this far because the lifespan of evil people was cut short. With the technologies cited above it is possible for an evil persons brain to be preserved and for his or her followers could interact, acquire feedback, and get guidance from the deceased. Evil ideologies have potential to tear apart the fabric of societies.
In 2008 the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford published a technical Roadmap for Whole Brain Emulation (WBE) as far fetched as it may sound
And then there is Nectome, a start up company who will preserve your memories, possibly running a computer simulation of them in the future but there is a catch. You need to be embalmed while you are still alive! Embalming chemicals will be pumped into your veins and arteries (under anesthesia) and just before you are die they will harvest your brain.
Explorers of old who risked life and limb to conquer tall mountains and vast oceans but they were exploring within the natural, created world. We are being thrust into a world where humanity strives not to be human in massive control effort.
We truly are walking in the Uncanny Shadow of Death. Which one of you has not experienced a computer glitch? Since these technologies are unknowns, what happens to your soul, your very essence, if one of these systems crashes and vaporizes your virtual self? Your soul cannot and will not entwine with autonomous systems. What happens to your soul?
