We visibly see twinkling stars; the rise and the setting of the sun; the moon as she waxes and wanes; and meteor showers race across the black firmament.  These are tangible and very comforting to us.  But have you pondered the extent of the invisible and the part that she will play at the Beginning of Sorrows and Great Tribulation of End Times prophecy?

You are about to be overcome by rippling intergalactic, interplanetary, and global pulsating electric sheet containing cosmic dust devils that enshroud superwinds and storms.  These are the creation-forces that introduce violent disintegration and formation of matter and later berserk Coronal Mass Ejections (CME's) and supernovae.   

The earth is rapid, if not already entered, approaching the next intersection with the dusty electric current sheet of the galaxy where the galactic magnetic fields reverse and this is a trigger for many superflares and recurrent Nova, then applied to the Sun.  This is the electric current sheet, or what Chan Thomas called, the Magnetic Null Zone in the CIA classified book,  The Adam and Eve Story.   The only way for the sun to do something terrible such as what the ancients described and physical evidence in a cyclic manner is to be hit by that galactic current sheet.  When that happens, the earth experiences a global electromagnetic disruption. 

That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more. Ezekiel 21:5

I am not talking about the angelic or demonic entities but weaponized stardust. Stardust is a foundational element of everything.  Since the beginning, man has battled dust and stardust.  It should not come as a surprise to us that this invisible weaponized stardust will rain down the terror of judgment upon rebellious mankind.  God threatens to bring a rain of powder and dust, in Deuteronomy 28:24, upon the Land, as a punishment for forsaking him. 

There is a reason that it is customary to say, “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,” at funerals.  Not only were we fashioned from dust and God has weaponized His elements for judgment, unleashing them in His fury. Dust denotes the grave (Job 7:21).  In no uncertain terms, God is throwing His cosmic dust as a sign of His abhorrence to our actions (2 Sam. 16:13; comp. Acts 22:23) and that much of rebellious mankind will be forced to lick the dust is a sign of abject submission (Ps. 72:9).  Creation and judgment have been inexorably linked throughout history.

No matter how much you fight against it, dust pervades everything.  Stardust is a bedazzling and mysterious force beginning among exploding stars in the distant heavens.  It contours our world and the heavens and marks the passage of time into the unknown.  Dust blurs the boundaries between the living and the dead, plant and animal matter, the inside and the outside, you and the world.  It shapes our existence and forges our climate.

Stardust mixes with billions of tons of it rise into the air mixing with desert sands, forgotten civilizations and kings mixing with volcanic ash, sea salt, leaf fragments, scales from your skin and butterfly wings, as well as fireplace soot.

Faith Lessons:  Lord Jesus,  You created all things from the largest to the invisible.  Furthermore, in Psalms 136:  I avow to give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good.  You say all You created is good.  Please show me the good of stardust.  Am I to counter the evolutionary hypothesis?  Am I to better understand creation?  Am I more comforted to know that You are in control of all things? 

A Matter of Faith

This violent catastrophic tribulation where we are pummeled by interstellar stardust is to one acknowledge the true and Living God and forge in our character a rock-solid faith.

By faith, we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.  Hebrews 11:3

Faith is the organ which enables people to see the invisible
order.

    We gaze with wonder and awe as we look up unto the heavens.  What we fail to see is cosmic dust in the presence of electric and magnetic fields that are not going to going to look or act like randomly scattered dust.  Dust will appear much like some of DARPA’s creepy designs, but its order comes from the Almighty Who lines up this dust: self-organizing; shape-shifting between solids and gases; highly detailed crystalline patterns; and particles that can form a wave.  This dust obfuscates our view of the cosmos except if perchance we are looking in the narrow infrared.  It is as if we are looking through a kaleidoscope, a different form of lensing, fun glasses, that does not show you the reality of what you are looking at. Think of cosmic dust as a covert matter which mankind does not understand. Interstellar and intergalactic dust, like a veil, hides the reality of what is behind it.  

    Space is not empty. A cube 100 meters on a side would still have is estimated to have 20 specks of dust inside of it. The stripe of Milky Way that stretches forth across the heavens is comprised of dust.  And within that stardust are the atoms, the elements, and the chemicals of creation.

    Our sun and planets and moons and asteroids and comets, everything in our solar system began as a cloud of particulate dust spoken into existence by God. Stardust is buffeted around perturbations such as solar winds, gravitational pulls, and intergalactic super winds that were organized by the Creator Himself Who used stardust containing millions, billions and gazillions of elemental particles He formed and condensed them into foundation of everything we know in this reality, and the luminaries and stars we see in the heavens.

    We wrestle and shy away from the invisible realms, even when we are told:

    For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.  Romans 1:20

    Furthermore, we are told that the things which are not seen are eternal, 2 Corinthians 4:18, and, For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

    When confronted by the invisible Jesus says, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony. If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe I I tell you about heavenly things?  No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.  John 3:12

    Genesis 1:2 and a Mighty Wind

    The first hint that we have approached this historical time period is a shift in our winds.  The quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) is the dominant mode of variability in the tropical stratosphere. The characteristic of the QBO is a downward propagation of wind reversal-changing from easterly to westerly directions and vise-versa, with a periodicity of about 28 months. The QBO has an effect on the strength of the polar vortex and the various terrestrial oscillations.

    The Hebrew word hwr can mean "breath, wind, or spirit" (BDB, 924). Its most basic meaning is "blowing, air in motion, wind". To the ancient Hebrews breath, wind, and spirit were the same ). There are six other references listed, Gen. 41:38, Ex. 31:3;35:31; Num. 24:2; Ezek. 11:24; and 2 Chr. 15:1. Psalm 33:6 says, "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth".  LXX Text, pneuma qeou - The LXX has translated the Hebrew phase as pneuma qeou with no article as the Hebrew which seems to indicate that "a wind from God". 

    Aramaic Texts ywy mdq nm ajwrw - and the wind from before Yahweh.  In the Targum Neofiti I McNamara translates, "and a spirit of mercy from before the Lord was blowing over the surface of the waters." In the Targum Pseudo-Jonathan Maher translates, "and a merciful wind from before God was blowing over the surface of the water." This same phase "merciful wind" occurs in Genesis 8:1 to dry the floodwaters.

    Josephus in Jewish Antiquities writes pneumatos d’ authn anwqev epiqeonyos, meaning "a wind (or breath) from above was moving over it." Framxman notes, "The alteration of the ruah `elohim to a ëbreath from above (anothen)’ cannot help call to mind the similar effort employed by the Targumim to interpret this 'breath' as something a bit apart and distinct from God himself." Philo renders it "life-breath" and comments, "The one he entitles the 'breath of God', because breath is most life-giving, and of life, God is the author." (On The Creation, 30; LCL, 23).

    This merciful wind that has insulated us since creation will pause briefly during the cataclysmic days unfolding.

    Pick Up Your Dusty Bible

    Can we see evidence of this dusty cataclysm in the bible?  Dust (’āḇāq, ‘āp̱ār) is synonymous with a multitude, smallness, poverty, abasement, sorrow, contrition, and lowliness.

    Man Formed by Dust

    God stretched out His hand, took the dust of the ground, and created the first man therewith. Genesis 3:19

    [When Abraham dialogued with God regarding the saving of the righteous of Sodom and Gomorrah] Abraham answered and said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, I am but dust and ashes.  Genesis 18:27

    God remembereth that we are dust in Psalms 103:14

    Then shall the dust (i.e., man) return to the earth as it was.” Ecclesiastes 12:7

    Dusty Curse of Satan

    The serpent is the first to hear the divine condemnation. For him, God announced judgment with no mercy. Immediately he would be cursed above (lit., from) both domestic and wild animals. In this context, the word “from” (min) means, “apart from.” The serpent would crawl on his belly and eat dust. Three major opinions about these words have been expressed.

    1. Some hold that a complete transformation of all biological serpents took place at this time. But if a snake was the innocent vehicle of Satan, why is the snake (and all his kind) punished? Do snakes literally eat dust, or is this a metaphor? If a metaphor, could it not apply as easily to Satan himself as to snakes?
    2. Others say that a new significance was given to the original status of the snake. Thus what had formerly been the mere result of nature became through this curse a kind of punishment, a symbol of the effect of sin.
    3. Still, others take “crawl on your belly” and “eat dust” in a figurative sense. Like the modern expression “bite the dust” the Hebrew expression “eat dust” is equivalent to being reduced to a demeaning and contemptible position (cf. Mic 7:17; Isa 65:25). This former angelic being was now debased in relation to man, and even to the lowliest creatures God ever made (3:14). Following the period of debasement, Serpent would be crushed by the seed of the woman (3:15).

    Abraham’s Battle

    The battle fought with the mighty hosts of the kings, from which Abraham emerged victoriously, happened on the fifteenth of Nisan, the night appointed for miraculous deeds. The arrows and stones hurled at him affected naught, but according to legend, the dust of the ground, the chaff, and the stubble which he threw at the enemy were transformed into death-dealing javelins and swords.

    Jacobs Dream

    In this, the first prophetic dream dreamed by Jacob, God made him the promise that the land upon which he was lying would be given to him, but the land he lay upon was the whole of Palestine, which God had folded together and put under him. "And," the promise continued, "thy seed will be like unto the dust of the earth. As the earth survives all things, so thy children will survive all the nations of the earth. But as the earth is trodden upon by all, so thy children, when they commit trespasses, will be trodden upon by the nations of the earth."

    Isaac’s Blessing to Jacob

    Isaac blessed him with the fatness of the earth, so also God: "And he shall give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the ground, and it shall be fat and plenteous." Isaac blessed him with plenty of corn and wine, so also God: "I will send you corn and wine." Isaac said, "Peoples shall serve thee," so also God: "Kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers; they shall bow down to thee with their faces to the earth and lick the dust of thy feet."

    Legends of the Jews say that Jacob left the presence of his father crowned like a bridegroom, adorned like a bride, and bathed in celestial dew, which filled his bones with marrow, and transformed him into a hero.

    Jacob Wrestling the Angel

    Again, we must look to the Legends of the Jews for in interesting account referring to the End of Days, At the break of day the angel left off from wrestling with Jacob. The dawn on that day was of particularly short duration. The sun rose two hours before his time, by way of compensation for having set early, on the day on which Jacob passed Mount Moriah on his journey to Haran, to induce him to turn aside and lodge for a night on the future Temple place. Indeed, the power of the sun on this same day was altogether remarkable. He shone with the brilliance and ardor with which he was invested during the six days of the creation, and as he will shine at the end of days, to make whole the halt and the blind among the Jews and to consume the heathen. This same healing and devastating property he had on that day, too, for Jacob was cured, while Esau and his princes were all but burnt up by his terrible heat.

    Plague of Lice, Exodus

    God sent vermin upon them, saying, "Let the lice made of the dust of the earth take vengeance upon the Egyptians for having desired to destroy the nation whose seed is like unto the dust of the earth

    Plague of Boils, Exodus

    The sixth plague, the plague of boils, was produced by Moses and Aaron together in a miraculous way. Each took a handful of ashes of the furnace, then Moses held the contents of the two heaps in the hollow of one of his hands, and sprinkled the ashes tip toward the heaven, and legend says that it flew so high that it reached the Divine throne. Returning earthward, it scattered over the whole land of Egypt. The small dust of the ashes produced leprosy upon the skin of the Egyptians, and blains of a peculiar kind, soft within and dry on top.

    The LORD will afflict you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors and scabs and itch from which you cannot be cured.  Deuteronomy 28:27

    Shake off the Dust

    It was a biblical custom during the time of the disciples that if someone does not accept your message that you wipe the dust from your feet and remove yourself.  Mankind, in general, has refused the Creator and salvation through His Son, Jesus, and so we have entered the prophetic time where God shakes the dust He created metaphorically from His feet and uses it as a direct energy weapon against those who hate Him.

    Revelation

    So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and loathsome, malignant sores broke out on those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.  Revelation 16:2

    Such was prophesied in Deuteronomy and modeled as an example for us during the Ten Plagues of the Exodus.

    Visible Dust

    TS Eliot once wrote, "I will show you fear in a handful of dust," by which I assume he meant the dust under my bed. How many live in my bed? Ten million? Probably more under my bed.

    Believe it or not, stardust is all around us in the most unlikely of places!  It can dirty your car, can be found in the snow, fertilize the earth, mingles with volcanic and air pollution, tells the story about the birth of our solar system, and falls upon our heads in the form of micrometeorites.  NASA even tracks atmospheric dust and aerosol on our planet as well as others.

    Dust can be everything from invisible smoke to tiny grains of sand.  One of the characteristics of dust is that it gets everywhere being easily transported by the wind.  Stardust has settled into some of the richest farmland on Earth and has contributed in part to the 30-meter-thick layer of nutrient-rich Earth crust and mantle.

    While flying top-secret missions up to 70,000 feet above the Earth, U-2 spy planes were outfitted with sticky pads to collect high-altitude dust. High up there in the atmosphere, dirt, pollen, and even airborne bacteria act as the seeds that let snowflakes form. Like dust, that snowfalls, and some of it settles into enormous, frozen glaciers. Drilling down more than a mile into Antarctica's frozen ice sheets, scientists have found stardust and bacteria cryogenically frozen, put into suspended animation in mid-air from the ancient origins of Earth.

    Cosmic Dust Maps

    Dust is important because it shrouds our direct view of the cosmos but because it likened to magic.  At Cassini, they discovered that dust can hide 95% of the electric current of Enceladus.  So how much is dust hiding outside of the solar system?  Outside the galaxy?  We have no idea far away some of this dust is and how large the dusty structure is.  We do not see to far in terms of distance and that is understandable as we are embedded within the galactic disk and can only view the vast heavens from this perspective.  The reason this matter is that earth is rapid, if not already entered, approaching the next intersection with the dusty electric current sheet of the galaxy where the galactic magnetic fields reverse and the mainstream trigger for many superflares and recurrent Nova, then applied to the Sun. 

    Interstellar dust attenuates ultraviolet, optical and near-infrared light.  Because of the extent of this attenuation is wavelength dependent, dust both dims and reddens the light of stars and galaxies before it can reach our telescopes.  In many areas of astrophysics, an accurate correction for the effects of interstellar extinction and reddening is critical.  Historically, most dust maps have been two-dimensional while this map is 3 dimensional to map out interstellar dust reddening.  These dust maps are based on Pan-STARRS 1 photometry of 800 million stars, 2MASS photometry of 200 million stars, and Gaia parallaxes of 500 million stars.

    Many super glares and all the recurrent super Nova we know about are allegedly the results of gas and dust feeding down onto the surface of the star.  The recurrent Novae know about have close enough binaries to do it often but that is not the case for the Sun.  The difference with the Sun hitting the current sheet would be that it’s not just the gas and dust in the sheet but the ions and magnetic reversal point of the galaxy.  Of course, we can’t really know how close we are. As we try to peer through the Lyman-Alpha forest we constantly battle the polarization and reddening tricks of light through space.  We are still finding new dust populations at the galactic and cosmic scales.  We all know that this happens to the Sun and earth every ten to fifteen thousand years.  We are currently at 12,000 from the last one.

    Faith Lesson:  Jesus, you tell me not to be deceived.  Show me how dust may deceive me by clouding my vision.  Do I have a dusty, obscured vision?  What does Scripture say about this?

    Plasma Cosmology

    A study of Plasma Cosmology says that plasma and its interaction with other plasma's, gases, dust, and magnetic fields are controlling forces of the universe. These hard-to-see populations and under-appreciated dynamical forces. Evidence of a plasma universe comes from scientists such as K. Birkeland in the 1800s to H. Alfvén in the 1900s to Dr. Peratt’s classified work at Los Alamos.

    Best Plasma Universe Solutions Summary:

    1) Scientists continue to discover new populations of cosmic dust and plasma, the influence of plasma turbulence and magnetic fields over gravity/chaos, and the ability of dust to hide electric currents in space.

    2) Today we know that many galactic magnetic fields are large scale and coherent, that their cold plasma and dust halo is larger than expected, co-rotating with the galaxy, and being fed in helical spirals from the larger cosmic web.

    3) Cassini found that dust was hiding 95% of the electric current in Enceladus’ plume, and if we can only detect 5% in the middle of the current, we detect nothing from space.

    4) While the majority of Dr. Peratt’s nuclear test data is still classified, we were allowed to present a qualitative description of implications there is no dark matter, rather, it is luminous matter.

    Faith Lesson:  Jesus, reveal to me the hard-to-see populations and under-appreciated dynamical forces either standing with me or against me.

    Dusty Plasma

    Herschel observations of the M31 galaxy reveal challenging revelations about its dust content in terms of commonly used models/assumptions. The more they look, the more they discover, AND the more tensions they find with their expectations. It means we not only do not see all the dust yet, but we misunderstand is character [August 13, 2019]

    Model/simulation of plasma in intergalactic space forms flat sheets- much like electric space pancakes. These are current sheets, likely to be double layers, and they believe this is going to be a common cosmological feature. The effects of such sheets on large scales is largely unknown and studied via plasma physics. [August 9, 2019]

    Olivine crystal space dust discovered, prominently. This unexpected discovery brings up two interesting points from the film. This furthers the crystal/dust problem with shielding of electric current and optic tricks, and also calls forth our memory that olivine is conductive like many other crystals and provides a medium and aid to electrodynamic influence in the region. Olivine is a key component of the mantle.  Much of the earth is made up of olivine.  It is also one more indication that we do not fully understand the character of dust in the cosmos and its interaction with the earth’s mantle and core.     Interstellar dust in the line of sight of a binary star.  Olivine is a crystal and an important one.  Olivine is a key component in our mantle.  Much of the earth is made up of olivine.  In our lack of understanding of space dust, there are catastrophic new discoveries hidden from our view.  Understanding crystalline olivine is critical for earthquake predictions. 

    The Processes of Violent Disintegration and Natural Creation of Matter in the Universe

    This article completes the circle of presenting the process of the constant growth of objects and systems and the topics to complete it consists of the visible matter violent disintegration and creation inside the Universe.

    A dusty plasma is a plasma containing millimeter (10−3) to nanometer (10−9) sized particles suspended in it. These dust particles are charged and the plasma and particles behave as a plasma. Dust particles may form larger particles resulting in "grain plasmas". Due to the additional complexity of studying plasmas with charged dust particles, dusty plasmas are also known as complex plasmas.

    Dusty plasmas are encountered in:

    • Industrial processing plasmas
    • Space plasmas
    • The mesosphere of the Earth- The mesosphere (; from Greek mesos "middle" ) is the layer of the Earth's atmosphere that is directly above the stratosphere and directly below the thermosphere. In the mesosphere, temperature decreases as the altitude increases. This characteristic is used to define its limits: it begins at the top of the stratosphere (sometimes called the stratopause) and ends at the mesopause, which is the coldest part of Earth's atmosphere with temperatures below −143 °C (−225 °F; 130 K).
    • Specifically designed laboratory experiments
    • The temperature of dust in plasma may be quite different from its environment. For example:

    A thermophoretic force is a force that arises from the net temperature gradient that may be present in plasma, and the subsequent pressure imbalance; causing more net momentum to be imparted from collisions from a specific direction.

     

    Faith Lessons:  Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.     Dusty Plasma and Younger Dryas

    Dusty plasmas are important because the presence of particles significantly alters the charged particle equilibrium leading to different phenomena.  Electrostatic coupling between the grains can vary over a wide range so that the states of the dusty plasma can change from weakly coupled (gaseous) to crystalline. Such plasmas are of interest as a system of interacting particles and to study generic fundamental physics because God designed them to be self-organizing, pattern formations, phase transitions, and scaling.  We see all these phenomena increasing as the satanic forces of evil counterfeit God’s original creation diagram.

    The dusty plasma populations are studied in laboratories and can exist in all three classical phases including solid, liquid and gaseous, and can be used to study effects such as crystallization, wave, and shock propagation, defect propagation, such as what we see with supernova eruptions from the sun impacting earth in events similar to the Younger Dryas which was believed to have impacted Russia-Asia sending intense shock-waves or air and water decimating mega-fauna and human life in North America and creating mangled graveyards of bones in places like Alaska.

    What are the interactions between the gas giants and their moons and our moon? 

    How dusty is the interstellar plasma?  The intergalactic plasma?  With our best technologies, we are still discovering new dust populations an abundances.  On top of the implication that we do not see at all is the electric current is still hiding remaining unaddressed in the cosmological community and this is how the universe hides in plain sight.

    Faith Lessons: Help me my Lord Jesus to comprehend the things that are arrayed and hiding in plain sight.  Guard my heart, dear Lord, that I might not be afraid.

     Dusty Creation Showdown

    The force of evil knows of the great power and the part dust will play at the end of time.  Using ancient technologies of the fallen ones, deception, and mimicry they will deploy their SMART DUST counterfeit swarms for various missions, as Satan vies to sit upon the Great Throne of God.  This war stretches back to the first sentence in the Bible, in the beginning, God (et, Jesus) created the heavens and the earth. To have a world that is totally devoid of God he needs to remove Jesus from the creation narrative.   NASA is, but one agency, employing this arcane dusty technology in the battle to redesign earth.  There are several versions of this NASA document online.  Provocatively, the slides detailing the dust and explosive nature of these imitation particles have been removed from most copies.

    Killer Dust

    Space dust falls upon your head about once a day but as the magnetosphere continues to decrease, this number will increase.  When we look inside that stardust, we find the same elements that make up the Earth itself, and everything on it. It carries carbon compounds that have been irradiated in outer space, impacting the processes and chemicals that makes life possible.  Consider this sobering fact, some of the particles contain very dense strangelets, the same ones simulated by CERN, that can bore to the center of the earth in mere seconds, and have the potential to turn earth into an exploding neutron star.

    Dust can kill. According to W.H.O. one in eight deaths worldwide can be traced to air particulates. Hannah Homes, who write the book, The Secret Life of Dust, says "Air is the medium, and dust is the message".

    With every breath we inhale a bit of the story of our universe, our planet's past and future, the smells and stories of the world around us, even the seeds of life.

    Project StarDust

    This focus movie shows what a particle track in the stardust aerogel might look like. The focus movie can be viewed in the Stardust Search Tutorial with the "virtual microscope". The tutorials use tracks of extraterrestrial particles that were captured in the ODCE collector on the Russian space station Mir and tracks of submicrometre dust particles shot into aerogel at 20 km/s using a Van de Graaff dust accelerator in Heidelberg, Germany. Real interstellar dust tracks may appear different from these. They may be deeper or shallower, wider or narrower.

    Scientists researchers and governments are aware of killer stardust and so in 1999 NASA launched a robotic space probe to collect dust samples from comet Wild 2, samples of cosmic dust, and asteroid 5535 Annefrank such as and returned these to Earth for analysis in 2006. It was the first mission of its kind. A mission extension codenamed NExT culminated in February 2011 with Stardust intercepting comet Tempel 1, a small Solar System body previously visited by Deep Impact in 2005.

    The comet samples collected by Stardust contain abundant crystalline minerals and in most cases. it is clear that they did not form by the predicted mild heating of interstellar dust.  The comet is a very odd mix of materials that formed at the highest and lowest temperatures that existed in the early solar system. Comets have been cold for billions of years but their ingredients are remarkable products of both fire and ice. 

    Project Stardust was subject to the maximum contamination restriction, level 5 for planetary protection which was later removed because the risk of interplanetary contamination by alien life was judged low.

    The primary science objectives of the mission included:

    • Capture of comet dust is possible using an aerogel collector.
    • The intercept of significant numbers of interstellar dust particles
    • Returning as many high-resolution images of the comet coma and nucleus as possible

    It included:

    • Cometary and Interstellar Dust Analyzer (CIDA)
    • Dust Flux Monitor Instrument (DFMI)
    • Stardust Sample Collection (SSC)

    In April 2014, NASA reported they had recovered seven particles of interstellar dust from the aerogel.

    Preliminary estimations suggested at least a million microscopic specks of dust were embedded in the aerogel collector. Ten particles were found to be at least 100 micrometers (0.1 mm) and the largest approximately 1000 micrometers (1 mm). An estimated 45 interstellar dust impacts were also found on the sample collector, which resides on the backside of the cometary dust collector.

    The dust includes compounds of titanium, vanadium and nitrogen (TiN and VN) as well as tiny nuggets of platinum, osmium, ruthenium, tungsten and molybdenum.

    Among the findings are: a wide range of organic compounds , including two that contain biologically usable nitrogen; indigenous aliphatic hydrocarbons with longer chain lengths than those observed in the diffuse interstellar medium; abundant amorphous silicates in addition to crystalline silicates such as olivine and pyrocene, proving consistency with the mixing of Solar System and interstellar matter, previously deduced spectroscopically from ground observations; hydrous silicates and carbonate minerals were found to be absent, suggesting a lack of aqueous processing of the cometary dust; limited pure carbon (CHON)  was also found in the samples returned; methylamine  and ethylamine  was found in the aerogel but was not associated with specific particles.

    Scientists have found iron and copper sulfide minerals that must have formed in the presence of water. This discovery shatters the existing paradigm that comets never get warm enough to melt their icy bulk.

    Glycine

    In 2009 it was announced by NASA that scientists had identified one of the fundamental chemical building blocks of life in a comet for the first time: glycine, an amino acid, was detected in the material ejected from Comet Wild 2 and grabbed by the Stardust probe. Glycine has been detected in meteorites before and there are also observations in interstellar gas clouds, but the Stardust find is described as a first in cometary material. Isotope analysis indicates that the Late Heavy Bombardment including cometary impacts after the Earth coalesced but before life began. The solar system once experienced a meteor shower of epic proportions: Asteroids whizzed around the inner planets, crashing down in a rain of fire that left their surfaces scarred for billions of years. Astronomers typically call this period the Late Heavy Bombardment. 

    "The discovery of glycine in a comet supports the idea that the fundamental building blocks of life are prevalent in space, and strengthens the argument that life in the universe may be common rather than rare," said Dr. Carl Pilcher, Director of the NASA Astrobiology Institute which co-funded the research.

    Glycine is an amino acid that helps the body make proteins needed for health.  Proteins are the workhorse molecules of life, used in everything from structures like hair to enzymes, the catalysts that speed up or regulate chemical reactions. Just as the 26 letters of the alphabet are arranged in limitless combinations to make words, life uses 20 different amino acids in a huge variety of arrangements to build millions of different proteins.
