If you have not heard about the Carrington Event please read this article for it will make a comeback, soon, very soon.  Next time it will be much worse due to the Technology Era in which we live.

A WARNING FROM HISTORY--THE CARRINGTON EVENT WAS NOT UNIQUE:

Above: Drawings of the Carrington sunspot by Richard Carrington on Sept. 1, 1859, and (inset) Heinrich Schwabe on Aug. 27, 1859. [Ref]

On Sept. 1st, 1859, the most ferocious solar storm in recorded history engulfed our planet. It was "the Carrington Event," named after British scientist Richard Carrington, who witnessed the flare that started it. The storm rocked Earth's magnetic field, sparked auroras over Cuba, the Bahamas and Hawaii, set fire to telegraph stations, and wrote itself into history books as the Biggest. Solar. Storm. Ever.

But, sometimes, what you read in history books is wrong.

"The Carrington Event was not unique," says Hisashi Hayakawa of Japan's Nagoya University, whose recent study of solar storms has uncovered other events of comparable intensity. "While the Carrington Event has long been considered a once-in-a-century catastrophe, historical observations warn us that this may be something that occurs much more frequently."  Link

U.S. Flood Strategy Shifts to ‘Unavoidable’ Relocation of Entire Neighborhoods

For years, even as seas rose and flooding worsened nationwide, policymakers stuck to the belief that relocating entire communities away from vulnerable areas was simply too extreme to consider — an attack on Americans’ love of home and private property as well as a costly use of taxpayer dollars. Christopher Flavelle writes that now, however, that is rapidly changing amid acceptance that rebuilding over and over after successive floods makes little sense. Using tax dollars to move whole communities out of flood zones is swiftly becoming policy, marking a new and more disruptive phase of climate change.  Link

Local Governments Have Embraced New Technology to Weather the Pandemic, Survey Finds

New technology, including virtual desktops, were widely adopted by state and local governments to allow employees to work remotely, a first for many municipalities.

More than 95% of state and local leaders who responded to the poll said their agencies used software to maintain service levels as employees began working largely from home.

Since March, the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on local governments, forcing furloughs, layoffs and projected revenue shortfalls in the coming fiscal year. But amid the difficulties, there are bright spots—including the widespread adoption of new technology, a trend that government officials say is likely to continue.

Global enforcement and crackdowns ahead, for anyone not toting the official narrative

Bad Cyber Actors Don’t Fear the Law. We Can Change That.

Better coordination among law enforcement agencies at home and abroad are key to the layered deterrence strategy we need.

A new approach would combine all instruments of power and U.S. partnerships at home and abroad to: shape behavior in cyberspace through strengthened norms, deny the benefits of malign behavior by improving national resilience, and impose costs for rule-breaking. Its success would require a whole-of-nation approach, connecting federal and local governments, the private sector, academia, civil society, and all of American society. And it would need plans tailored to specific threats; actions that would deter China might not work for Russia or a criminal group. Link

Germany has been in uproar over the events that unfolded this Saturday, when 38,000 protesters gathered in Berlin and clashed with the police. The organizers of the gathering, entitled Umdenken (Rethinking), claimed they wanted to show their frustration at government measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Among the 38,000 were at least 3,000 far-right sympathizers and extremists, according to Berlin’s interior minister.  Link

COVID-19 Revealing the Impact of Disinformation on Society

Studying these examples, researchers are able to draw greater conclusions about the ways in which disinformation spreads through society. They argue that whether information even registers with people is mediated by their interest in it and trust in the source. Because of this, some disinformation may be better ignored, rather than amplifying its reach through additional media coverage.  Link

As the coronavirus pandemic stretched into spring, then summer, many Americans turned to home gardening. It’s a perfect pandemic hobby—soothing, tactile, a way to get outside when many public spaces are closed. Plus, for the large numbers of people facing unemployment or underemployment, growing food can feel like a bulwark against hunger. By March, when cities began implementing lockdown orders, Google searches for "growing vegetables from scraps" were up 4,650 percent from the previous year. By later in the spring, seed sellers were reporting soaring sales—the venerable W. Atlee Burpee & Co seed company saw its biggest sales season in its 144-year history.  Link

About 4,000 to 5,000 parasitic plant species exist. Among these, dodders (Cuscuta, Convolvulaceae) are distributed worldwide. Compared with normal autotrophic plants, they have a unique morphology—they are rootless and leafless and carry out no or very little photosynthesis.  Link

Theres the Great Flood, which he dated to 3361 B.C., naturally during a watery triplicity. After leaping past several cycles of great conjunctions, he arrived at 26 B.C., the time of a shift from a watery to a fiery triplicity. According to Mashaallah, this transfer heralded the birth of Christ and the advent of the Christian era. It also adds an interesting spin to John the Baptists prophecy that, although he baptized with water, the one who followed him would baptize with fire.  Link

Microbial communities in Arctic permafrost changed drastically at the end of the last ice age—and the shift could happen again due to modern climate change, according to a new study by University of Alberta scientists.

The researchers compared the found in permafrost formed during the last ice age, at the end of the geological epoch known as the Pleistocene, with those at the beginning of the modern era, known as the Holocene.  Link

In work that could have a major impact on several industries—from pharmaceuticals to cosmetics and even food—MIT engineers have developed a novel platform for the controlled delivery of certain important drugs, nutrients, and other substances to human cells.

The researchers believe that their simple approach, which creates small capsules containing thousands of nanosized droplets loaded with a drug or other active ingredient, will be easy to transition from the lab to industry.  Link

Yes, these microrobts are crawling through your body right now but you are just learning about them...

A conceptual advance that gives microrobots legs

Tiny devices have been developed that can act as the legs of laser-controlled microrobots. The compatibility of these devices with microelectronics systems suggests a path to the mass manufacture of autonomous microrobots.

In 1959, Nobel laureate and nanotechnology visionary Richard Feynman suggested that it would be interesting to “swallow the surgeon” — that is, to make a tiny robot that could travel through blood vessels to carry out surgery where needed. This iconic imagining of the future underscored modern hopes for the field of micrometre-scale robotics: to deploy autonomous devices in environments that their macroscopic counterparts cannot reach. However, the construction of such robots presents several challenges, including the obvious difficulty of how to assemble a microscopic locomotive device. In a paper in Nature, Miskin et al.1 report electrochemically driven devices that propel laser-controlled microrobots through a liquid, and which could be easily integrated with microelectronics components to construct fully autonomous microrobots.  Link

If you drive north from Khartoum along a narrow desert road toward the ancient city of Meroe, a breathtaking view emerges from beyond the mirage: dozens of steep pyramids piercing the horizon. No matter how many times you may visit, there is an awed sense of discovery. In Meroe itself, once the capital of the Kingdom of Kush, the road divides the city. To the east is the royal cemetery, packed with close to 50 sandstone and red brick pyramids of varying heights; many have broken tops, the legacy of 19th-century European looters. To the west is the royal city, which includes the ruins of a palace, a temple and a royal bath. Each structure has distinctive architecture that draws on local, Egyptian and Greco-Roman decorative tastes—evidence of Meroe’s global connections.  Link

A research team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has developed a new Gene Expression Embedding frameworK (GEEK), which uses artificial intelligence technologies in machine learning and natural language processing to study the regulation of gene expression. In contrast to previous works that focused on one or a few regulatory mechanisms at a time, this new framework can study the joint effects of many mechanisms.  simultaneously. Last Word

What is in a name?  From the Book of Esther.

Decades ago, I purchased a book, Your Name is a Blessing. There was massive spiritual warfare associated with this purchase. First, the Post Office lost it, and then they shredded it, and then I had to wait for the next publisher printing. Whew! I eventually did get the book.

Esther has two different names much like Jacob and Israel, Hadassah and Esther. What nuggets can we glean from this?

There is much discussion about whether Hadassah or Esther was her real proper name. Both names are descriptive of her virtues and calling. Just as your name is descriptive of your virtue and calling. Hadassah comes from the Hebrew word for myrtle. Istahar (Esther) from the word~beautiful as the moon.

While the myrtle has a sweet aroma but tastes bitter so Hadassah was sweet to all of us and her uncle Mordachai but bitter to Haman.

The myrtle also looks like eyes. In scripture, many times, we are told to have eyes to see both the literal and spiritual meaning of biblical passages.

And where is this in the Book of Esther?

And I will surely hide My face on that day. Deuteronomy 31:18.

It speaks about the many evils that would befall Israel on that day when they forsook God symbolized by God forsaking His face. This hiding of God's face, or diverting His eyes, happened in Esther's day, and we are seeing it in our day as God is purged from every vestige of the earth.

We are beginning to see practical End Times strategies emerge. First, a person is given a secular name and also a spiritual name.

We see this in Revelation 2:17, where it says:

and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.

Are we coming to a time when God will give us a hidden name that only He knows to protect our spiritual identity?

Our secular name and identity has become quite the global commodity and actually imperils our walk of faith. This threat to our Spirit will be addressed by the hidden new name that you either have or will receive.

We are entering a time when your physical and spiritual life may depend on your name being hidden.

~Have a blessed day!
