It has been revealed that the British Army is training ethicists to teach soldiers about the morality of killing with drones. This is not just being carried out in Britain but also here in the United States where justification and rationalization is being sought for the wholesale slaughter of humanity not just the 'enemy'. Incredulously, military Chaplains are going to get a one year degree in the ethical killing by drone or by nano-particle. Killing done thousands of miles away in the gamification of slaughter.
It is a scientific fact that drone pilots and nanoparticle controllers will use increased lethal force when the killing is played out on the computer.
Our military is turning exponentially to cutting edge technologies which require expeditious judgement at faster than lightning speed in murky ethical territories that come at a moral cost.
You are going to witness chaplains-leaders of the flock- engaging in killing by day in asymmetrical warfare, and then that evening conducting bible study or preach a sermon. Never before in history have pastors been called upon to become what is being termed armchair assassins.
As mankind runs toward emerging technologies society and the church must face the elements legality, morality and efficacy of spiritual armchair assassins and new concepts such as 'Drone Court'.
Will God's people tolerate their Pastor engaging in armchair assassination and do we really have a choice in the matter?
